Community & In-Home Treatment Services

are designed to help children with behavioral health challenges like Adhd, autism, and other needs build the skills necessary to succeed in school and community-based settings. We believe every child deserves the joy of learning and the confidence that comes from reaching their full potential.

When behavioral or emotional challenges get in the way of learning, our supportive team steps in to help. We provide individualized care in the classroom, after school, and at home—partnering with families, teachers, school staff, and other important people in the child’s life. By working together, we create a circle of support that helps children overcome barriers and thrive.

Through trauma-informed practices, group therapy, role-playing, and other evidence-based strategies, we help children strengthen skills such as:

🤝 Intensive Family Support Program (IFSP)

The Intensive Family Support Program (IFSP) at The UHCS serves youth ages 6 to 19 who require comprehensive mental health support. This program is designed to address serious emotional and behavioral challenges while fostering resilience, positive growth, and family stability. Through a combination of intensive therapeutic services and family-focused interventions, IFSP empowers youth to overcome obstacles, strengthen relationships, and thrive in their communities.

🛋️ Intensive Home-Based Therapy (IHBT)

The Intensive Home-Based Therapy (IHBT) program at The UHCS supports youth ages 6 to 19 who are experiencing serious emotional or behavioral challenges. It is designed for young people who are at risk of out-of-home placement or who are transitioning back home from a placement. The program provides intensive, in-home therapeutic services that address acute behavioral concerns and underlying mental health needs. By promoting positive development and strengthening family functioning, IHBT helps youth achieve stability and build a healthier future within their home and community.

🏡 Family Centered Treatment (FCT)

At UHCS, we believe every child deserves to grow up in a family. But we also understand that families sometimes face challenges that make it hard to stay together. That’s why we offer Family Centered Treatment (FCT)—an evidence-based model designed to strengthen families and build healthier relationships.

Our team of master’s-level clinicians, including licensed counselors, social workers, and family therapists, works with the entire family to identify strengths, address challenges, and develop lasting skills for positive change.

Supports offered through FCT include:

Family Centered Treatment can prevent out-of-home placement by helping children remain safely with their families. It can also support reunification for children returning home from foster care—helping families rebuild trust, stability, and connection.

🧠 Behavioral Health Respite

Behavioral Health Respite provides short-term, temporary relief to primary caregivers of youth enrolled in the program. This service aims to support and preserve the primary caregiving relationship by offering a break to caregivers, allowing them to rest and recharge. Respite can be planned or provided in emergency situations and may occur in various settings, including the youth’s home or a foster home.

🧑‍⚕️ Care Coordination

Care Coordination is a central component of the program. Care Coordinators work closely with families to develop and implement a comprehensive care plan that addresses the youth’s behavioral health needs. They assist in navigating the system of care, connecting families with appropriate services, and ensuring that all aspects of the youth’s well-being are considered. This service aims to reduce the number of meetings families participate in and organize everyone involved in a coordinated way to support the youth’s needs.

🧑‍🏫 Therapeutic Mentoring

Therapeutic Mentoring provides one-on-one support to youth, focusing on skill development, emotional regulation, and positive relationship-building. Mentors work with youth to set goals, improve social skills, and navigate challenges in a supportive environment. This service is intended to assist youth in achieving personal growth and success in various aspects of their lives.
